As Lumbini is significant as being the birthplace of the historical Buddha, it is especially auspicious that the central image of the new temple is a beautiful statue of the newborn Buddha. The temple’s grand inauguration was marked by the arrival of this special statue and escorted into the temple in a beautiful, traditional ceremony. The temple inauguration also saw the attendance of many of the world’s most highly respected, renowned Lamas such as H.E. Gangchen Rinpoche and his closest disciple Lama Michel Rinpoche, Laka Rinpoche, Domo Geshe Rinpoche, Rabten Rinpoche and the official Dorje Shugden Oracle Tenzin Chophel, who all led the procession. H.E. Gonsar Rinpoche is the heart student of Geshe Rabten and H.H. Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche. He hails originally from Sera Je Monastery and has centers in Switzerland, Austria and Mongolia. This newest temple in Lumbini, Nepal is another wonderful addition to his growing legacy and the inspiring result of his unceasing efforts to bring Dharma to all corners of the world.
