Bylakuppe, India One of the three largest monasteries of Tibet, Sera Monastery, has produced innumerable scholars, masters, yogis, abbots, Tulkus and even regents. Sera Monastery is located in South India, six hours away from Bangalore in Bylakuppe Tibetan Colony, in the Mysore District of Karnataka state. A group of Dorje Shugden practitioners from Sera Monastery formally started a new monastery nearby on April 25, 2008 named Serpom Thoesam Norling Monastery. Readers' Comments
The monastery has built its own premises including a monastic prayer hall, facilities and accommodation for the monks. It now runs a full curriculum of study, debates, pujas, social service, festivals and activities. Serpom Monastery’s current Abbot is Kyabje Yongyal Rinpoche Jetsun Ngawang Lobsang Thupten Thinley Gyatso Rinpoche. They currently have many qualified Geshes, six Tulkus and over 550 monks.
