{hwdvs-player}id=12|height=450|width=600|tpl=playeronly{/hwdvs-player} In the 17th Century, the Fifth Dalai Lama built Trode Khangsar in the heart of Lhasa in dedication to the Protector Dorje Shugden. The main image inside was also commissioned by the Fifth Dalai Lama. By the end of the 17th Century, the Fifth Dalai Lama's Regent Desi Sangye Gyatso then entrusted Trode Khangsar to Riwo Choling, a Gelug Monastery. Today, 350 years later, the temple continues to thrive. It is located behind the main Chapel of Jowo Buddha or the central Cathedral of Lhasa, just off the main circumambulation circuit (barkor). The Dorje Shugden Chapel is an eight-minute walk from Jokhang. The temple is open to tourists who travel from all over the world to visit this holy temple. Monks perform daily pujas and ceremonies to Dorje Shugden.
